There is way to much spaming on the ning networks and ning needs also to do something about. Another thing is that members do not check there sites enough. And at the first sign of spam it must be reported, A spam alert button on the home page would be a great idea, or a spam alert on messages sent to members.

if it was only spam it would be a lesser evil but since sometimes it is porn and sex proposals, it is disgusting and really it is killing that sort of network....

Thank you Madalena.
We feel safe in your family. And we all are against spammers.
Not only spams, I tried to alert my friends about scams too.
Your effort to keep this site free from all disturbances is commendable.
Best regards.

Hi Madalena~
Spam and scams are on the rise. I dont mind when another artist sends an email or comment requesting to see his or her artwork as that is part of why we are here, but I had been getting so many emails to join this or that business venture that has nothing to do with art that I finally had to stop the emails from being sent to my email addy an I have to deal with it on each site as I visit.
I have been working hard the last few years trying to sell and promote my art online.
I tried Ebay for 18 months. I had over 200 sales but I had over a 1000 no sales...alot of work and fees to pay, so much that the nonselling auctions ate up the money from the ones that did sell.

So I began trying the free auction sites that allow auto relisting. That helped somewhat , as I do get occasional sales on them but at least I dont have to pay listing fees like on ebay.

I also tried Print-on-demand sites with galleries and have had very little sales on any of them.
Afer spending more than a year on MYSPACE I met so many scammers I can recognize them quick enough.

So now I try to stay focused on finding ways to sell without having to buy ads or banners or clicks and so on. They are too annoying and dont help with sales anyway.

So the things that work for me I tell others about , to help save them some of the time my lessons cost me & that by joinging together on these art sites , we can hopefully develop our sites and affiliations which can help us to get known and sell our art.

What held me back a long time was spam and not understanding everything that constitutes spam. which made me leary of advertising my art at all.

Sow at least with my own built website http://AveHurleyIllustratons,ning.com I consolodate all my sites and blogs to one spot, make them and then pass them out. It has been faster that way. I put all my ning sites in alphatical order in my favorites file in their own folder. This way I begin each day, stopping by each site, checking email and comments, peak at the activity log and maybe say a few words and then go to the next site.To keep in touch with my friends as I get busier, I make up a blog or forum post and submit it to most of my sites to keep in touch,

I have seen another problem arising though as some websites dont have a clear idea what spam or scams are and can confusing. Someone just showing their art isnt spam but some sites think any interaction other than loading their pictures can be mistaken, for spamming when they are not intentionally doing anything wrong.

Wel have a good weekend!

THE FRIDA KAHLO MUSEUM

A Narrative by Gale Randall

For an offbeat travel experience in the Mexico City area, consider a visit to the Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyoacan. Hidden behind high cobalt blue walls at the corner of Londres and Allende in this charming southwestern suburb, the museo is where the surrealist artist Frida Kahlo was born, grew up and later lived with her muralist husband Diego Rivera, from 1941 until her death at age 47 in
