yes, mandalas can be used as tools for growth and development in us all, regardless of age. there's a terrific site you might consider using in your work with children. it is:

The Mandala Project

the site has a free gallery of mandalas, including children's work, as well as templates for coloring in. i think you may find it a great tool to use with the children.
